Our First Snow Day this Winter!

Abe has wanted to make a snowman since Christmas time. It has been a mild winter with hardly any snow at all. It snowed while we were in California, but that didn't do Abe and his snowman any good.

It snowed on Saturday, so we all bundled up to go shovel and play. It was a little frustrating how upset the boys were to get bundled up to go outside. Abe wanted snow pants with the suspenders over the arms, but the 3T pants we have are just the pants that cover his legs. Eli didn't want to wear any of the snow clothes. Eli kept saying "No thank you! No thank you!" Abe was saying that he didn't want to go outside after all. It was very loud and crazy, and we made the boys get dressed even though they fought us every step of the way.

Finally we were dressed and went outside.

It was freezing freezing cold out! The boys have been sick, so we wanted to be extra careful to keep them warm. We put them in scarves, which they disliked most of all. Abe finally gave in because we told him he couldn't play outside without one.

Eli was not cooperating, so I told him we had to go back in the house. As shown in these pictures, he was sad to hear that.

He and I were only in the house a few minutes before he and I came to a compromise. He finally would keep on his hat that covers his ears and chin. Good enough for me!

It was really cold out. I think that is why the snow was so powdery. It was no good for snowmen or snowballs. The boys still had a great time playing around with each other and Daddy. Then we came inside and enjoyed some hot chocolate. Hooray!
