Hershey Kiss Cookies

Here is another Christmas classic from my childhood. I love these so much! Peanut butter cookies and Hershey Kisses combine to make one amazing treat!

I make the balls of dough pretty small, so the ratio of cookie to chocolate is more even.

Here's the recipe:

Hershey Kiss Cookies

1 3/4 c. flour
1 t. baking soda
1/2 t. salt
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. peanut butter
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 egg, unbeaten
2 T. milk
1 t. vanilla
1 package Hershey's Chocolate Kisses

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Sift flour, baking soda and salt in a small bowl.

In a medium bowl cream shortening and peanut butter. Gradually add sugars. Add egg, milk and vanilla- beat well. Blend in dry ingredients- mix thoroughly. Shape into balls. Roll in sugar. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 8 minutes. While cookies bake unwrap enough Kisses for the batch.

Remove cookies from the oven and press Kisses down in center of cookies. Bake 2 to 5 minutes longer.
